Parking and Access:

Turn north onto 1st Street from River Drive and then east onto 1st Avenue. Parking is at the end of 1st Avenue to the north along 2nd Street.

Site Amenities and Recreation Opportunities:

Amenities include fishing, walking/hiking trails, mountain biking trails, kayak/canoe portage for QC River Trails, informational kiosk, and a water fountain.

Special Closings and Special Events:

Sylvan Island Stampede hosted by Friends of Off Road Cycling annually in April; Lagomarcino's Hot Chocolate 5K Run hosted annually in October.

Natural Site Characteristics:

Sylvan Island is an abandoned industrial site in the Mississippi River. The habitat consists primarily of invasive shrubs such as Buckthorn and European Honeysuckle.
